  • There are 3 fibre optic fibres inside each 3mm diameter PVC covered fibre optic strand. These are the flexible, durable type of fibre optic strands used in sensory rooms, (not the cheaper brittle type intended only for decoration, star ceilings etc.)
  • The ends of the fibre optic harness are flattened and sealed.  
  • Outer transparent material = PVC
  • Inner fibre optic strands = PMMA (Poly(methyl methacrylate).  PMMA is a transparent thermoplastic.

"We have been looking at purchasing sensory equipment for some time.  My daughter has a therapist that comes to the house on a regular basis. One of my daughter's favourite pieces of equipment is the fibre optic lights.  When we questioned the therapist as to where the lights came from and how much the harness cost - the majority of companies seem to sell them separately - we were a little put off due to the cost of the items.  The therapist also mentioned that their light source could get quite hot during operation, so again this was something else that put us off.

Upon getting the light source and harness home, it was easy to set up following the instructions provided.  The light source has different settings, e.g. rotating colours, or if you have a favourite colour you can just pause it on that colour for however long you wish...Also, the light source never seems to get hot, not even warm, which is great.  The aftercare that we have received has also been fantastic.

In short, this is an absolutely fantastic product and the value for money is phenomenal.  My daughter loves it, which is the most important thing.

I am looking forward to seeing other products from this company, as I would not hesitate to buy them or recommend them to anybody else that's looking to buy a quality item."

"What do we think of the light source?..It is the best thing we have purchased for Nicola since the bed system we got to help with her scoliosis!  With the bed system, it was the first night's sleep we had where she slept right through...with the light source it was the most stress-free Christmas we've had for as long as we can remember.


It was the first present she opened and she didn't want any other until after tea.  Usually she gets very uptight with the change in routine and all the extra activity when all the family come to share the day.  This time, once these lights were on and she was watching Andre Boccelli in his DVD she was calm and happy and wrapped up in all the soothing, changing colours.  I am not exaggerating at all...it was lovely to see her so stress free.


At the moment, she's not very well at all and again the lights are helping her to cope with the stress it's causing her at this time.  We purchased this because she isn't able to go to the Sensory Zone as often as she, and we, would like, and this light source and fibre optic harness is part of the sensory space we are trying to create for her at home.


As Nicola only has a small amount of money coming in, it means we have to be very careful how we manage it and at first I was anxious about cost and value for money because we've had many products in the past for varying needs like communication, sensory etc.  Some have been eye-wateringly expensive...necessary...not a luxury...but unfortunately way out of the range for some people.  All I would say to anyone reading this, who is thinking this could be for the one they love..then try a sensory zone first to make sure it has the right effect..and then come to these lovely people who helped us with our decision."
