Those setting achieve a configuration that is optimal for cooling, audibly comfortable at close proximity, and works within the original Dell specifications so you will not encounter fan ‘ramping’ issues that result from rudimentary homebrew attempts to achieve this which also mean our approach does NOT require you go through any agonizing steps to hack your hardware’s firmware profiles to force redefine the operating ranges.

The 1st question we always get is “Puffery aside, is it really that much quieter?” YES!
The 2nd question we get is “Is there still be sufficient cooling to avoid irreconcilably damaging my Server?” The answer again is a resounding YES!
The components within our fan’s modules and PSU’s that have been dialed in for minimal ambient noise generation while maintaining the necessary level of cooling. However PLEASE DO NOT just take my word for it. There is not a need - you can see and validate this yourself till you are comfortable!
Here is how:
- Install Dell OpenManage Server Administrator on you Dell PowerEdge 2950
- While the original noise Dell Components are still installed, notate the core temperatures and the acceptable operating temperature ranges per Dell (its in OpenManage SA)
- Then install in our precision tuned modules and watch and see how running temperatures stay within the safe operating temperature range. The most you’ll see is the temperature may increase a little with our modules but you will find the temps are still well within the safe parameters while also being quiet!
