This is fantastic large antique French hemp and linen sheet which would make the most wonderful bed cover or throw and (dare I say it as it means taking the scissors to it) ideal for reworking. It’s very large and heavy giving lots of fabulous fabric there are two small initials M T which have been embroidered to the top left corner, these of course are still as bright as the first day they were sewn.

The fabric is soft oatmeal in colour with flecks of straw within the fabric, the weave and texture is wonderful as it always is with this gorgeous linen and hemp and will through time soften with repeated washing, it really does have the most wonderful feel to it.

The fabric is very thick and heavy making it ideal for many a project.

This sheet has never been used and for reasons of authenticity I have not laundered this sheet. It has some light dust marks and storage marks all easily removed and as with all new linens I would recommend leaving it to soak for 24 hours and then launder as usual this will give you linens to last a life time.I just love these antique fabric which are impossible to replicate today.

The fabric is in wonderful condition has a lovely feel and is so hard wearing, still with a lifetime of wear ahead and ideally suited to throws, bed covers, curtains, upholstery, cushions the list is endless.

The top and bottom hems have been sewn by hand and as with all linens of this era there is a hand sewn center seam as the looms were never wide enough to accommodate the widths required for sheets.

A truly super piece of antique fabric, which is impossible to replicate these days. These gorgeous linen and hemp sheets in this condition are getting harder and harder to find.
