Up for your consideration is a drop-dead gorgeous vintage 23-piece Noritake hand-painted tea set with service for six. Many of the pieces have the Morimura Bros. green laurel wreath backstamp that was used in the early 1920s.

There’s the teapot with lid, the sugar bowl with lid, the creamer, six cups, six saucers and six plates.

Each piece was meticulously and skillfully hand-painted with lovely pastoral scene of a cottage on a lake and swans swimming.

The spout of the teapot has a chip missing that could be recreated by a professional.

Condition is very good otherwise overall. There is crazing to the applied gilt paint on the edging. There are a few glazed-over tiny black dots here and there. There are small white areas in the cobalt and gold edging that were left unpainted right from the start.

Here are specifics on the separate pieces:

Six saucers: 5 1/2” diameter. No issues.

Six cups: 3 5/8” diameter, 1 7/8” high. Each has some gilt loss on the underside of the handle, where the middle finger would rest against it when the cup is held. One of the cups has the tiniest (1mm) of all chips on the edge.

Six plates: 7 3/4” diameter. One plate has two spots of missing surface on the blue and gold edging on the upper surface of the plate. Both spots are 1/16” or smaller.

Creamer: 3 1/8” wide without spout and handle, 4 3/4” with them, 2 5/8” deep, 2 3/4” high. Moderate wear to gilt on handle.

Sugar: 4 1/16” wide without the handles, 6 1/16” with them, 3 3/8” deep, 2 3/4” high without the lid in place, 3 5/8” with it.
Sugar lid: 3 1/8” by 2 5/8” by 1 3/8” high.
Very light wear to the gilt handles.

Teapot: 4 7/8” wide without hand and spout, 8 1/4” with them, 3 7/8” deep, 3 3/8” high without the lid in place, 4 1/2” with it.
Teapot lid: 3 7/8” by 2 7/8” by 1 3/4” high.
Moderate wear to gilt on handle. Chip on spout.

Shipping costs include insurance.

Shipping charges include any shipping-material costs necessary to protect the item during shipping. Domestically, I ship via USPS Priority or First Class Mail depending mainly on the weight of the object. I may indicate that the item will be shipped by Parcel Select (cheaper that Priority) and charge you the lower rate, but then ship it by Priority anyway. All items will be shipped within 1 business day after payment has been received.

INSURANCE Insurance is included in the shipping charge only when I ship by Priority Mail (maximum automatic insurance is $50) or I explicitly say in the listing that insurance is included for full value of item. Ebay does not allow sellers to offer "optional or required insurance." (I don't know why.)

CUSTOMS/DUTY/THIEVES/INEPT POSTAL SERVICES: The buyer is responsible for being familiar with his or her country's customs/duty requirements and is responsible for paying all such customs/duty when asked to do so by a customs authority or eBay's Global Shipping Service. I have no control over mailbox thieves or postal services that mess up by misdelivering the package. Therefore, please don't hold me responsible for such. When a package is indicated as delivered in the tracking number history, eBay does not ask sellers to reimburse buyers for claims of non-receipt. Thank you for your understanding on these issues.

PACKING/DAMAGE  I package items very carefully. But if the item arrives damaged, please take a picture of any damage to the box before the box is opened and then pictures of the contents.

Minnesota sales tax applies to shipments to Minnesota. Returns are accepted, but there is a 20% restocking fee unless item is not as described.
