Arguably one of the very first real rockabilly records, this fine honky tonk influenced guitar and steel pedal Texas rocker from early 1955 was almost unknown until a few years ago, and it is still unbelievably rare. It is now considered the Holy Grail for collectors of Starday custom jobs and the original would almost certainly go for a four figure sum if one were to appear at auction. The flip is a great sincere hillbilly ballad. A couple of little known facts. Beamon went on to be known as Ted Forse and is said to have worked a little with Eddie Cochran. He is also the cousin of Truitt Forse who gave us super rockers ‘Chicken Bop’ and ‘Doggone Dame’ on Starday.
