Creek OBH-12 Passive Preamp with remote control.
This is a great little preamp with good reviews which just adds a volume control between your source equipement and power amp.
What makes this stand out from other passive pre-amps other than the high quality components that Creek have used is that it provides a remote control. The remote volume control operates a motor that turns the volume pot on the front, so it doesn't interfere with the signal path. Relay switches for Mute and to switch between inputs.
N.b, I never used the preamp at full volume, whilst the volume knob turns freely, the last 10% to full volume is slightly stiffer and sometimes needs a helping hand. If you frequently listen to music at full volume this may not be for you.
It provides two stereo RCA line level inputs for media player / CD player / Tuner etc.
There is also an additional Tape input and monitor outputs.
I've been using this with a Linn CD and Linn Power Amplifier and it sounds great. No crackling on the volume control either.
N.b this is a passive preamp, so will only work with a suitable line source.
