Can be used to sharpen steering or Lower the Seat Height
Developed specifically for the RAM “Valkyrie” Café Racer Limited Edition series of BMW R1100S based bikes, the RAM STRUTT offers all Oilhead owners the ability to instantly change the rear ride height and thus significantly sharpen the bike’s steering.
The RAM STRUTT is suitable for all Oilhead models where a lighter feeling, more nimble steering is preferred.
The RAM STRUTT simply replaces the stock BMW pressed steel unit with it’s fixed length and allows a range of adjustment from the stock 385mm down to the GS model’s 365mm. For years the “in mod” for riders wanting sharper steering, has been to fit the shorter [ 360mm ] unit from the GS model. The unit can be instantly adjusted in-situ via the RH thread yoke and LH thread ball joint. Simply slacken off the lock nuts, adjust via the knurled section on the bar and tighten the lock nuts, couldn’t be simpler.
The converse of this is that Oilhead and GS owners who find the seat height just that little too much, can use the adjustment to lower the seat height.
