This is a used, in " EXCELLENT condition, "sleek and stylish GENIE HR44-200", DirecTV's Newest Genie and top of the line HD DVR receiver.

This receiver would cost $799 if purchased from DirecTV.

Please note: Directv allows only "ONE" Genie receiver per account!!

Also, if you have the Directv Protection Plan and if you ever have a problem with an "owned" receiver on your account, Directv will replace the receiver as an "owned" receiver without a contract. If you don't have the Protection Plan, Directv will still replace the receiver, but it will be replaced with a receiver considered as "leased." So it's important to have the Directv Protection Plan to ensure your "owned" receivers keep their "owned" status in case they ever need to be replaced.


Why pay DirecTV or Best Buy, etc. up to $200 for a leased receiver while you can purchase an "owned" receiver and not have a two-year commitment, plus you can activate and deactivate as often as you want and you can even sell it. 


I guarantee that this receiver can be activated and is OWNED and I'll offer a "FULL REFUND" if that is not the case.  Please call DirecTV at 800-531-5000 and ask for the "Premium Care Department"  to verify that the receiver is owned and to order an access card. The Access Card Department no longer exists and you'll need to ASK FOR  the "Premium Care Dept."within Technical Support. Don't waste your time dealing with the Level 1 customer support group as they're not trained on determining whether a receiver is owned or leased, and you're likely to get an incorrect answer. What is RVU?    RVU is a standard that is being set by several companies to progress how electronics communicate with each other for TV, internet, and more.

The HR44 acts as the server and RVU Enabled devices like TVs, blue-ray players, tablets, and computers, act as a client.  This makes it possible to bring content to multiple devices in the house, without the use of a receiver at each outlet. 

TV’s without RVU or RVU Enabled components will require a set top box.    This is similar to when TV’s were built with the Cable Ready function, where they would not require a cable box to get programming. However RVU standard allows for a much richer experience, with programming guides, picture-in-picture, access to on-demand, internet, and shared media.
