The clear part can be painted and easily lit from any direction.  This part will only fit the Polar Lights 1/350 Refit Enterprise kit as far as I know.  It is a direct replacement of the original part included with the kit.

This clear part gives you the opportunity to be very creative with the lighting in the arboretum.  Photoetched parts fit very well and can be attached as they would on the original part.
