Vintage Zeiss Contax IIa with its case and Zeiss Sonnar 50mm F2 lens

This camera is in very good cosmetic condition with very little brassing and the covering in good condition.

Please enlarge the photos and check it out

Being stored in my collection for about 40 years the camera has all the normal aging problems of a camera not being used for so long.

The lens look ok mechanically but being old has some fungus as expected in a old lens, the diaphragm looks dry and is working as it should.

The shutter blind is in good condition, the speeds are slow but after a couple of tested seemed to come good but may need the usual adjusting to have the speeds in accurate working condition.

The view finder is clear to look through and rangefinder double image is working as it should.

The case is in good condition, the correct lens cap has always been with the camera.

I only ever collected cameras and expect to sell this camera to another collector where any faults I have pointed out would be no problem as the external condition is very good, any aging problems could be fixed with a service but it's imposable to recover any poor condition of the external finish, so overall this is a good condition for a camera for the collector but if intended or use a complete service will be required to have the camera in top working condition.

Please note: this camera is being sold as a very good old camera with all faults that would be in a 60+ year old camera that will need a complete service to bring it back to as new working condition.

Thanks for looking.
