Common name: Dragon Root
Family: Araceae
Note: I will soon add listings for a larger number of rare plants and seeds.
Description: Arisaema dracontium, commonly called dragon dragon, is very similar to Jack-in-the pulpit, except green dragon usually has only one large, long-petioled, compound leaf that is divided into 7-15 lance-shaped leaflets and has a greenish spadix which is narrower and tapers up and beyond the less prominent, greenish hood (lacks the distinctive purple striping of Jack) of the spathe. Also like Jack-in-the-Pulpit, this plant goes dormant in the summer, with the mature plants producing red berries which become visible in mid to late summer as the spadix withers. Height to 1 m.
Cultivation: Hardy to zone 4. Requires a rich yet very well-drained soil. Surrounding the tuber in a mix of coarse bark, shingle and sharp sand when planting will help to prevent it rotting. Plant in dappled shade and give it a generous mulch of coarse bark in the winter months.
Use: Ornamental for outdoors growing.
Medical use: None.

Packaging:
Seeds are packaged in labeled plastic or paper bags.
Plants and seeds are sent together, unless otherwise required. Bags with seeds are placed in an envelope that is sent separately or placed in the paper box. Fragile species of seeds are protected from breakage by plastic film with bubbles or foam plastic strips. In the package is placed invoice (unless expressly requested the omission). When the seeds and plants are sent together (typical) then the envelope with seeds is attached to the inner part of the package.
Plants are individually marked with plastic tape with an inscription by alcohol markers. Each plant or more of them together are packed in a plastic bag filled with moist perlite, paper and/or humus for a secure source of moisture during shipping. Bag with plants is sealed at the top with duct tape, and there is drilled several small holes to circulate the air. To make plants easier to endure while sending, the leaves can be protected by foliar anti-transpirant & protective coating (at the express request of the customer). They are sent with the complete soil (without jar), with removed part of the soil or with a small amount of the soil on the roots (or without soil (roots washed)), depending on the method plants are grown (one or more plants in a single pot or outdoors-grown) and the desired shipping price (less soil, less weight, less expensive to send). After all the plants and seeds are fixed in the box, the rest of the empty space is filled by some light material (polystyrene, paper, ...) which prevents their unwanted movement, ie. damage. All plants are watered abundantly before shipping. When sending a plant from the container with more plants of similar height, I'm trying to send the higher one, if it is located on the edge of the container, not in the middle. When sending plants longer than approx. 60 cm, in order to reduce the shipping cost, plants can be shorten and/or part of the leaves removed (in fast-growing species, especially for perennials). I prefer to send the plants before they are in full vegetation (with the removal of soil) or until there is no intensive heat. However, I've already sent the plants without soil by intensive heat (in Croatia) and there was no problem with the plants. All of my products are photographed before I sent them out (before packing and after). When plants arrive, plant them in a cool place (or use some shading material for 1-2 weeks in summer), or in a jar as soon as possible - all plants are under stress by receiving them as mail order. After 1-2 weeks of recovery in a cooler and darker location, plants produce new leaves and start to grow.

Germination and/or cultivation instructions (general and specific (if available) will be shipped with order (by e-mail).

Seeds
germination:
Seeds are live products that depend on different skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, irrigation etc. Germination is affected by many factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity etc. Seeds are dispatched in good condition but cannot be guaranteed to grow regardless of the methods of germination used.
Important:
Under no circumstances I'm liable for any injuries caused by using any of my products (all seeds and plants should be considered poisonous, unless explicitly stated otherwise).
Thank
you for your looking.
