Welcome To Tone Man Guitar

Tone Man Guitar DIY Wiring kits will improve your guitars over all tone.  Only the best quality parts are used.  You will not find a better product or selection.

This Kit Is For:

USA Gibson Les Paul manufactured from 1977 to present using long shaft pots . Premium new components that perform better than the stock electronics found in today’s guitars.  You will hear and feel the difference and love your new tone.

What's In The Kit:

  • 4- Bourns High Grade Low Friction 500K Potentiometer - Audio Taper - Long Split Knurled Shaft - Brass 3/8 in Bushings. Comes with 2 nuts and washer.
  • 1- .033uf K42Y-2 Paper-In-Oil (PIO) Vintage NOS Bridge Tone Cap. Great Vintage Women Tone
  • 1- .015uf K42Y-2 Paper-In-Oil (PIO) Vintage NOS Neck Tone Cap. Great Vintage Women Tone
  • 1-  ft. black Gavitt push back cloth vintage wire 22awg (to ground all 4 pots together)
O   Options: We recommend the cap values that come standard with this kit for the very best Gibson Style Vintage Tone but if you prefer any of the below tone cap options add a note to the order when purchased and I will substitute if I have cap in stock.
  •     .022uf Bridge / .015uf Neck (.015uf helps remove some of the muddy tone in the neck)
  •     .022uf Bridge / .022uf Neck
  •     .033uf Bridge / .033uf Neck (same as recommended but using .033uf in neck
I personally prefer Bourns Potentiometers over all other brands including CTS.  I have found them to be smoother, longer lasting and the very best audio taper.  One of the highest rated guitar pots on the market.

*   If you are not sure whether your guitar uses short (3/8") or long (3/4") shaft pots please check before ordering.  Normally Pre-1977 Gibson Les Paul's, Epiphone's, SG's and PRS's use short shafts.  If you have questions feel free to email me.

Note: If you have an imported guitar (e.g. Japan, China, ect.) you may need to modify the potentiometer holes to 3/8 in to  accommodate the Bourns bushings.  Knobs may also need to be modified.  Please measure before you order.  Email me with any questions.
