SUPERB & POIGNANT SEATED POST MORTEM TINTYPE - CHILD AT REST & HOLDING BOUQUET - I have seen a good number of Post-Mortem tintypes during my days of collecting 19th Century photography, however, the one you are viewing is not only a very sensitive recording of this child, but an extremely rare seated pose. Note, upon using the magnifier in my two listing photos, you are able to make out tucked behind the high chair, someone was there to help to hold this "Fallen Angel" into place.

In addition, either a family member or the photographer placed a tiny bouquet of flowers in the child's hands and an even smaller decorative accent near their neck. One of the most touching and unusual Post-Mortem tintypes I have ever had the honor of offering here on Ebay. I truly believe these images aided their families during their grieving process and in a small way, photographically immortalize their loved ones for eternity. I wish all my fellow photo collectors, good luck adding this extraordinary tintype to their collection.

CONDITIONPlease view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The sixth plate tintype contains excellent contrast, tonal range and sharpness. The sixth plate is in super condition with only light surface wear consistent with being from circa 1880's or 1890's. The image has resided in this type of paper sleeve since you can see the exact outline of the mat as shown. Super rare content makes this a truly incredible 19th Century tintype. In fact, this is the only seated Post-Mortem image I have had in my possession. Now this image rare mourning tintype can join the others in your current collection of antique mourning photography.
