The Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM Lens is a new and affordable L-series ultra-wide-angle zoom lens that's ideal for both film and digital SLRs. Superior optics are assured by the use of three aspherical lens elements, in addition to a Super UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) glass element. Optical coatings are optimized for use with digital cameras. This lens focuses as close as 11 inches (0.28m), and offers both Canon's full-time manual focus and a powerful ring-type USM for fast and silent AF. It has a constant f/4 maximum aperture, and offers the choice of screw-in 77mm filters or a holder in the rear of the lens for up to three gel filters. Finally, it offers weather-resistant construction similar to other high-end L-series lenses.
About half the price of the 16-35 f/2.8 lens, this L-series lens has an entirely new optical design with three Aspherical elements and a Super UD-glass element. The combination provides superb contrast and sharpness, even at the widest settings. It's ideal for both film and digital SLRs, and features the same weather-resistant design, rear gel filter holder, and high-speed Ultrasonic Motor as the EF 16-35mm lens.

Pick-Up: If you select this option: We are closed on Weekends, hours are M-TH 9am-3pm & Friday 9am to 2pm. Please allow 2 hours to complete the invoicing and internal process. Pick Up times are by appointment only. All Pick up orders must be retrieved in 48 hours or the order will be cancelled and refunded. All items that are purchased and picked up locally, must be charged California State Tax of 8.75% (if not already paid). Any balance owed must be paid at pick-up.

International Orders: We are a US authorized dealer. Any products purchased that require charging, will require a convertor, which is not supplied by Samy's Camera.

MINT (Like New) 96-100% of original condition – May have slight wear but only visible under close up inspection. Little or no signs of wear.
EXC+ (Excellent Plus) 90-95% of original condition – Product cosmetically may show slight wear and/or signs of use but only visible under close inspection. Lens glass is very clean.*
EXC (Excellent)85-89% of original condition – Shows signs of minor use – Product is in great condition but may have some dust or marks which will not affect performance.
GOOD (Good) 75-84% of original condition – Appears well used and may include dings, brassing, scrapes and bruises but appears in functional condition. Lens glass may have fungus, excessive dust, and/or scratches that can affect picture quality.
FAIR (Fair) 50-74% of original condition – Appears to have been used very heavily with multiple dings, scrapes, scratches and heavy brassing all possible. Product may have fungus, excessive dust and/or scratches that will likely affect picture quality. Item works with certain malfunctions. Read comments for exact details.
