This is a Magnificent Tiffany Dinner Service in Mint Condition. It has been in our family for over half a century, and as dealers we are offering this publicly for sale for the first time. It is made by Minton, for Tiffany, in England. The pattern is called Somerset. It is a set for 12. It consists of 16 Dinner Plates, 24 Appetizer and Dessert Plates, 18 Bread and Butter Plates, 12 Soup Bowls, and 12 Demitasse Cups and Saucers. The sizes are as follows, Dinner Plates 10 and Five Eighths inches wide, Bread and Butter 6.25 inches wide, Appetizer and Dessert 8 inches wide, Soup Bowls 8 inches wide, and Demitasse and Saucers standard. The set is Circa Mid 20th century. It has fluted green edges with a gold and white center.
This set is marked by Tiffany and comes with many of the original New York Tiffany felt dividers for each of the plates, etc. This set was retailed by Tiffany's in the 1940's and 1950's. Minton discontinued this pattern in 1970, making it even more desireable. People who search for this pattern can only find one to six pieces. it is an extremely desireable and rare set.
It is in perfect condition. Even more remarkable is not only the condition but the fact that a set of this size in intact and can accomodate a dinner party of 12. Finding a set exactly like this today would next to impossible.
