This is a vintage Fenwick (2nd generation Feralite) FF 856 fiberglass fly rod. S-series was produced from 1978 thru1979. This fly rod is just like the FF 806, only 6 inches longer!The only difference from the earlier Feralite is the two lower stripper guides became ceramic lined, for reduced line wear.The rod is a two piece 8' 6" for #6 weight line, in very minty condition. I believe it is a one owner rod that was well cared for. There is a very even darkening of the cork handle, which still has the Fenwick sticker attached. Many "old timers" will insist the old fiberglass rods had the best action. Flannel "sock" and original storage tube are in amazingly excellent condition.
