Made with anatomical patterning and high-quality neoprene, the R4 meets Patagonia's rigorous standards for stretch, durability and warmth. Fully lined with recycled polyester laminated to chlorine-free merino wool. It's constructed as a grid to create dead air space and retain lots of warmth. The wool is fast drying and reduces odor. Neoprene underarm panels are backed by nylon jersey on both sides for better stretch while paddling. Recycled polyester jersey outside the seat and legs increases durability with less environmental impact. All seams are triple glued and blindstitched for durability; crotch seams are internally taped. Anatomical, compression molded kneepads are PVC-free for better durability and less environmental harm.
If you are a coldwater surfer and want confidence your wetsuit will keep you warm on the coldest days, the R4 Hooded Wetsuit is the suit you've been looking for. It's rated for 38 - 49° F, but I wear this suit in the Northwest where water temps range from 50 - 55° F. I tend to run cold.
