CHURCH VINTAGE OXFORD SHOES – BROWN / TAN - UK 8.5 – LANCASTER- WORN ONCE

A very fine, vintage pair of Church’s iconic Custom Grade, six-eyelet, oxford toe-cap shoes in beautiful light brown / tan bookbinder leather – gorgeous – and never out-of-place. A beautiful example of a Church classic. They are in superb used condition overall – notwithstanding a few lighter areas where some of the leather pieces of the uppers join together (see photos) – not very easy to notice, in fact, but they are there. These shoes have been tried on in a shop, I believe, but not worn in any proper sense – the shop stock label is still on the soles, in fact.

In my opinion, although modern-day Church shoes are still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably finding some of the nicest shoes around.

But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!

The style is ‘Lancaster’ –  traditional, elegant, never out of place and one of Church’s best known designs. This pair were formed on the popular 73 Last. This design is part of Church’s current range and they retail at around the £500 mark.

The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.

The shoes feature leather soles, bookbinder leather uppers, full leather linings and all the build-quality that one expects from this traditional English shoemaker.
