BOLEX H8RX REFLEX STANDARD 8 MOVIE CAMERA WITH VARIO-SWITAR F1.9/8~36MM ZOOM LENS

This is the “flat base” version of the H8 Reflex, incorporating several improvements over the round base version. This example also has the later 1:1 motor drive shaft and can be used with the constant speed motor as well as the variable speed one. It is fitted with the mechanical fading accessory and the optional automatic exposure zoom lens.

The camera serial number is 213166. The lens is number 953770. The outfit on offer includes the original box, instruction book with updating supplements, lens hood, front and rear lens caps, two turret hole covers, three series VI filters, 100cm cable release and attachments, depth of field tables,  instructions for the RX-Fader, and a back-wind handle.

I have not used this camera, but I have known its ownership since new. It appears to be in excellent condition. Cosmetically, the only blemish I can find is a chip in the lens barrel at the 0.8 mark and small areas of blistering in the paintwork around the front shutter release. The rubber eye cup has lost its zing. The motor runs strongly and smoothly. The automatic fader works as it should. The lens looks bright and clear, but I imagine the battery needed for its automatic operation is no longer available. The manual control opens and closes the diaphragm OK.
