Reluctant sale of my much loved Trialer.

It was bought as a run down trialler and was completely rebuilt. I stopped counting at 400hours labour and about £3000. It was finished in March 2010

The vehicle is a based on a  cut down (to 80") Range Rover chassis. When I bought the machine I stripped it down to the chassis and cage. The cage is an early Dave Marsh (now making Wildcats). This was then shot blasted and coated with two coats of undercoat and three top coats. There was no welding needed apart from two small holes (approx 2mm) which had been drilled into to fit a panel. These were welded up and ground flat.

All the old mechanicals were thrown away. The 3.9 engine and auto box came from a donor discovery which had a complete service history although all the fluids were changed, the auto box serviced and a piper cam kit fitted to the engine along with tubular manifolds and a stainless stud kit which gives a useful increase in power. The radiator is a custom alloy job and has twin electric fans which are manually operated through a switch in the cab. A new kick-down cable was also fitted. I have also fitted a brand new starter motor as the old one was getting a bit lazy.

Both axles also came from the donor Discovery which are 24spline. All oils were changed and discs and pads were replaced all round with new calipers on the back. A diff guard and strengthened steering rods were also fitted.

I spent alot of time working out the suspension set up. I had the springs custom wound from Tomcat and are matched for the weight of the vehicle. Gwyn Lewis supplied the +5 inch travel procomp shocks, relocated shock mounts and modified turrets. The set up is very flexible, as can be seen from the pictures. Due to the extended travel the vehicle also has longer braided Goodridge flexible brake lines. The rest of the brakelines were replaced throughout. In addition, the vehicle has had fiddle brakes fitted operated by new Milner levers and assisted by twin remote brake servos (new and bloody expensive!), all this linked to new four pot calipers on the rear axle. Works a treat!!

When I rebuilt the truck, all the panels were replaced inside and out with aluminium sheet. Infact I think the only original panel is the roof. I had a custom alloy fuel tank made which is internally baffled and contains a "sump" which prevents fuel starvation at extreme angles. Fuel is supplied by a Walbro fuel pump and Cosworth fuel filter arrangement. This all sits in the back along with the battery box and new battery (about a month old).

On the inside I fitted a new Corbeau Forza bucket seat (FIA approved) along with a Sabelt harness.

The vehicle has a set of Four 235/85x16 Grizzly Claws (one of which was new when the vehicle was rebuilt) which are in good condition fitted to silver modulars (again two of which are new). There is a spare of the same pattern and size.

Im sure that there are some other bits and bobs that I haven't mentioned but the vehicle was built to last me years and still be competitive, however the joys(!) of shiftwork mean that I am probably going to be unable to trial for the rest of the year and it seems a bit pointless having the machine in the shed and not being used. The vehicle has been very competitive, and won overall for the year in the 2010 season despite having its debut in March 2011. It has won the majority of events it has entered, regularly winning its class and being first overall.

I won't be giving it away, as I hate to think how much it owes me - so no silly offers please. As mentioned, I work odd shifts so if you have a question please ask and i'll try and get back to you as soon as I can. I also reserve the right to remove the vehicle at any time

The vehicle has been relisted after being messed around. I hate to say it, but you are bidding to buy not to try and haggle. I have also lowered the reserve, although this was met no problem last time. I am keen to clear a space in my garage.

Cash or any other method must clear first. NO PAYPAL as the costs are prohibitive.

Happy bidding!

I have added some extra pictures to show the vehicle "as is" and is still in good condition. These were taken yesterday.
