Up for auction is L9 BGW, a 1993 Jaguar XJ12 6 litre V12 in Metallic Flamenco red. The XJ12 was the flagship model of the XJ40 marque, fitted with Jaguar's enlarged 6.0 litre V12, which enjoys significantly improved power and reliability over the 5.3 litre variant. This is a lovely example of a very rare car which has been well cared for.

It has an MOT until November 2012. The 316hp engine is faultless, smooth and strong, and it drives easily with effortless power through the 4-speed auto gearbox. In sports mode it pins you back and takes off, with a wonderful deep 12-cylinder growl. The car has done 154k and has been well maintained; it is widely acknowledged that these engines will easily pass 250k, as their torque from sheer size and nature of the vehicle provide low-stress operation for longevity and good reliability. Paintwork is very good overall, and the interior is excellent. This car has undergone major restoration work in the last few years, including:

- Full respray in 2008, original metallic red, giving a deep, lustrous high gloss finish
- New interior refit in 2008 (cream leather seats with red piping, new dark red carpets, new headlining)
- Alloy wheels refurbished in 2009, full set of Pirelli P6000 tyres with plenty of tread all round
- Full lighting pack professionally installed, including self-levelling Xenon headlights, ultra bright LED interior lighting and constant red downlit door handles and footwells for a very impressive effect at night

All of the restoration work was done professionally, with the above totalling £6131, and receipts for all the work plus all servicing & maintenance work dating back to 2000 are present. A jaguar service history is present from 75k miles onwards; I was informed that the previous service history was mislaid, therefore it was continued by JagCare of Hampshire from 75k.

The vehicle includes cruise control, a premium factory sound system, electric adjustable seats & headrests, a trip computer, air conditioning and a premium security system, all fully working. Other nice features include a stainless steel exhaust, rear blinds, a pair of Jaguar rubber front footwell mats and the original Jaguar toolkit. There are no warning lights or messages present, and the vehicle had a service with JagCare in November 2011.

The car has a private registration number worth £450, which is included in the sale.

One tempermental item is the CD multichanger, which sometimes doesn't read my CDs (I hope it's not just rejecting my taste in music). There are a few small areas of bubbling, primarily a spot on the bonnet lip, behind the front nearside mudguard (not visible without kneeling & passed MOT without advisory), and some small areas around the rear windshield pillar seams. The front passenger footwell has had a weld repair which has been treated for protection.

Viewing is welcomed in Caldicot, Monmouthshire. This vehicle sold once before on ebay but the buyer didn't make any contact or show up. As always with ebay motors, please note you are bidding to buy and I must ask for a £50 paypal deposit on winning the auction, and collection within 7 days of the auction finishing or otherwise by prior arrangement.
