Due to a few irresponsible people shipping butane lighters via post , postal authorities worldwide now have many restrictions on lighters being shipped in the postal system .
We believe that we comply with all restriction requirements brought in with the January rule change , however many of our Zippo shipments are being opened and checked by Royal Mail  .

This is what happens to your Zippo when I post it .

1 . Taken by road to the Heathrow International Mail centre .

2 . The packet is checked for dangerous/restricted goods .

3 . Royal Mail considers the packet contains dangerous goods because it is marked in accordance with the rules ……. Zippo Lighter .

4 . Royal Mail send the packet to Belfast by road and sea for investigation .

5 . Royal Mail opens the packet and finds a Zippo Lighter that is new , empty and never filled .

6 . Royal Mail badly reseals the packet and either

A . Sends it back to Heathrow for eventual delivery to the buyer .

B . Sends it back to me for re-packing and resending to the buyer , and repeat steps 1 – 6 .
