Back when the Grado HP1 headphones were in production, Grado designed and built a bi-wired headphone cable configuration for use with his high-end Grado professional headphones. This new cable resulted in a significant improvement in bass definition and also improved the overall audio frequency response of the headphone drivers.

This cable set uses the same bi-wired configuration used in High-End Grado headphones such as HP1, RS1, RS2, GS1000, PS500 except that this cable is built using a better quality silver-plated cable that has a Teflon covering.

The cable is Six feet long (longer cables are also available) and terminated with a 1/4" gold-plated connector (3.5mm connectors are available on request).

Each wire is hand built and soldered using Mundorf Silver solder and covered with a black flexible sleeving. This cable will result in a significant improvement in your headphones audio definition (due to a superior conduction) and will also last a lifetime due to the high quality Military wires used.

We will install these cables for FREE once you purchase this listing and send your Grado headphones to us. We will upgrade three GRADO headphones per week and there is a queue of around 3 weeks at the moment.

Latest Feedback:

This is possibly the most necessary upgrade for any audiophile. Not only does it do everything you said it would, but the work on the upgrade as far as I can see is superior. I tried listening to a little known classical guitar song that happens to be one of my favorites called “Battlestar Sonatica for two guitars” by Bear McCreary, arranged by Gregg Nestor.  And I heard something that I never heard before in the recording…. the guitarist was breathing. At first, I thought I was breathing weird, but realized that the sound was so clear that it was the actual guitarist.

I also tried a recent rock song, “Too Late” by 311, and the the bass didn’t sound labored, the frequency response was more than capable of handling the lower bass. From there, I started roaming through my playlist at random and found new details in my music that I never found before.  It’s almost like listening to music I’m already familiar with for the first time.

Grado headphones are typically known to cater to classical and jazz audiences better, but these upgraded headphones seem to be capable of handling all genres on a wide soundstage without forcing the listening to strain their concentration for the hidden details. I expected an improvement but did not expect an entirely new experience.  My music feels and sounds more alive than ever before. This will be reflected on feedback in eBay, but wanted to share this in so many words. Thanks again, and will be recommending Amplifier Surgery in the future!
