A fine antique art pottery twin scroll handled earthenware vase of cylindrical form decorated with a sgraffito fish design with verse to the opposite side reading 'Do the work thats nearest, Though'tis dull at whiles, Helping when you meet them, Lame dogs over stiles'. With incised artist monogram and incised makers marks along with the date 1895.

Condition
The vase is offered in fine presentable condition with a small inside edge chip to the top rim with a couple of glaze firing bursts in the glazed decoration. None of these detract.
