This is a 1979 Gibson Flying V.  My research has revealed there where only about 75 of these made at that time. So there are not many floating around out there. They way about 3 pounds or so on average.
Very light guitar.
I have owned it for 20 years or so and it has worked great with no problems.
Before I owned it that head stock was broken and repaired. But the only way I can tell is in the broad day light of the sun. Really hard to see any imperfections in regular light. Please see photos or requst a copy for real close up view of the work.
The serial and "MADE IN THE USA" where sanded down a bit for the repair from what I can see.
It stays in tune and plays amazingly as it should. No issues what so ever over the 20 years I have owned it.

The case had the guys name spay painted on it. I started taking it off at some point but decided it didn't really matter to me that it was there. But I can even through in the stripper I was using to finish the job if you like. Might be better to paint over of you wan it black though.

I have more photos than I was allowed to post. So please let me know if you would like to see more.
It's actually in pretty amazing shape. The paint is not checkered and only has a few impressions on it other than what you can see in the photos of the head stock.

Ebay takes about $750 from this sale so I have it priced to cover there fees and is still way below others.

I also have this guitar listed on State College CL Musical Instruments if you want to get a better deal.
