On offer a very rare £10 Banknote from Wales, privately issued by the Black Sheep Banking Group, led by Richard Williams, who spent 5 years irritating the Bank of England with his attempts to sneak Welsh Currency into circulation. The plan got off to a good start when Williams registered his design in Welsh, which the English couldn't understand a word of, so approved it, which translated to "Chief Cashier for Wales" or something similarly official, and strictly prohibited by the Bank of England's regulations, as they hold jurisdiction over Wales. There followed a cat-and-mouse game for years, with a simple word here or there being altered to be just in, or just out of what was allowed, but in the end Williams did succeed, as even though no Welsh Banknotes issued during the  20th Century ever held Legal Tender Status, and all of his got stamped "Cancelled", today his Welsh Banknotes are worth several times what Bank of England notes from that period are worth, so perhaps the Welsh get to have the last laugh after all.

All Welsh notes signed by Williams are considered amongst collectors as the closest thing to genuine Welsh Banknotes that exists, and are highly prized as a result, but they are not Legal Tender. This one is the 1971 edition and in perfect, UNC. condition, as are most Welsh notes, as they never actually circulated.
