Offered for sale today is a rare original and excellent unrestored 1966 Omega Ref. 168.004 Constellation Chronometer 14K yellow gold automatic men's dress watch w/ date indicator at the 3 o'clock position. The case and dial, both brilliantly designed by the late and legendary Gerald Genta to whom Omega owes a great deal of credit also features the famed and much sought after Pie Pan dial. It is featured here w/ a very clean silver dial w/ gold dauphine hands, hour markers & gold framed date window. The case dimensions are 36mm and it features its original trademark crown, original acrylic crystal and its original tang buckle as well. What makes this Constellation better than most is not only its original condition, but that it is also equipped with the Omega calibre 561 which, along with the entire 500 calibre range of Omega movements are the best and most precise timekeeping movements ever produced by this great company. It is exquisitely and entirely crafted in 14K solid yellow gold. The condition of this item is very good with very good metal quality and all functions perform flawlessly. It has been thoroughly cleaned and CW21 serviced but we have not polished it to preserve the integrity of the metal. The crystal, hands, case, caseback & aftermarket but period correct strap are excellent and very clean. The legendary Cal. 561 certified chronometer movement considered by many an Omega enthusiast to be among the finest ever produced, is immaculate with no dulling or corrosion at all and runs very accurately. Many of these rare watches have long since disappeared and there are very few decent examples left. This is a rare, highly prized and very collectible model sought after by Omega collectors the world over. The solid 14K yellow gold inner case back, bracelet and movement bear the appropriate Omega hallmarks inside and out and are stamped and numbered 24453454 & 168.004 respectively. As evidenced by the photos, this watch was well cared for and lightly worn. Case, crown, dial and movement signed. The quality of the metal on this watch is truly very good, it is an unmolested, above average original example. Purchase w/ absolute confidence. I only sell high quality Swiss watches.
