This is a good example of a German Prussian Seitengewehr Short Sword. It is mounted with a straight, hefty, spearpoint blade that measures 18 7/8 inches in length. The blade remains in good condition with only light surface blemishes and is dated "53" on the spine. The solid brass hilt is simple in design and mounted with an "S" shaped crossguard that is Regimentally marked that remains tight and sturdy. The leather scabbard is brass fitted and although the leather finish is a bit weathered, does remain healthy as well with all of its stitching intact and continues to tightly wear both staples. Overall measuring 26 inches in length. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this auction) TO SEE ADDITIONAL PHOTOS PLEASE SCROLL DOWN.
