Produced by DYBDAHL, Denmark

Attractive DYBDAHL handpainted ceramic Candle Holder

Produced in Denmark in the 1960s and with inscribed signature to the base: Dybdahl  Danmark

It measures 7 cm high by 9 cm across at its widest.

It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs.

Dybdahl pottery was set up and managed by husband and wife Margrethe and Palle Dybdahl from 1952 to the 1990s. It was situated in the country side close to Allerød, which is north to Copenhagen. Palle produced the shapes of the pieces and Margrethe decorated them.
Margrethe had studied at the Rostrup-Boyesens Art School and the School of Design in Copenhagen in the 30s. The best known decor are these feather or leaf-like patterns but she also painted figurative motifs and they both made figurines. Their range of bowls, vases, plaques and jugs are becoming increasing popular with collectors. They are especially attractive to collectors of Scandinavian design.
