A fine vintage Swiss movement Zenith chronometer made for the Vail Watch Company, USA, double boxed and in good working order. This clock has kept accurate time since it was wound over 12-hours ago, we haven't tracked it to the second but it's certainly running close.
This is a smaller than average chronometer, more along the size of a pocket watch.
Measures 3" (76mm) across the face with a 2 1/4" (57mm) dial. It is approx. 1 5/8" and the back unscrews so it's not necessary to remove it from the box for inspection.
The brass case shows some surface scratches and wear, the locking lever is slightly bent but will turn into a locking position with a little effort.
Small wood box measures 5" x 5" x 5"
larger outer case is 7 1/2" x 7 5/8" x 7 3/4" with a flared out bottom plate.
