Hello,

This is a custom made Fred Lebayle Rosie model marbled hard rubber bass saxophone mouthpiece. It has a size 7 tip opening and serial #004. This new Rosie model was developed by Fred Lebayle to give the player a modern and full tone. Unlike other bass sax mouthpieces, this one is made for bass sax reeds which make it play much better than baritone reeds. It has punch, but also a very rich tone. Articulation is very fast, and it's easy to move quickly around the instrument. This model is in between his jazz model and LR III in terms of brightness. The Rosie model was developed together with Fred Lebayle and Brian Landrus to create a modern bass sound that incorporates the beautiful tone of a vintage Otto Link Florida with the power of a vintage offset Berg Larsen. This mouthpiece has been made for several leading saxophonists in NYC and Los Angeles. This is a very rare and completely handmade mouthpiece, no CNC machines. You can hear the metalRosie played here: https://youtu.be/hQoF0L6l00k this rubber version is a little darker.

Fred Lebayle has more professional saxophonists playing his pieces than anyone else. A partial list is: Branford Marsalis, Wayne Shorter, Mark Turner, Marcus Strickland, David Liebman, Walter Smith III, Brian Landrus, Candy Dulfer, Jan Garbarek, Chris Potter, Seamus Blake, Ravi Coltrane, Melissa Aldana, Ron Blake, Chris Bullock, Vinny Golia, Ellery Eskelin, Antoine Roney, Ben Wendel, Alex Foster, Myron Waldren, Jaleel Shaw, Igor Buttman, John Ellis, Chad Lefkowotz-Brown, and many others.
