Author: Alison Uttley, born Alison Jane Taylor (1884-1976). Prolific author of children’s books.  Her first books were a series of tales about animals, including the Little Grey Rabbit Series, of which there are 37 in all. She wrote to support herself and her son after the suicidal drowning of her husband James Arthur Uttley in 1930.

Artist: Numerous color plates by Margaret Tempest (1892-1982).   Tempest is the original illustrator for the Little Grey Rabbit series, which she continued to do until the 1960s.
