Cypripedium flavum x regina alba inc growing medium. Hardy Ladies Slipper orchid.

Cypripediums are hardy terrestrial perennial orchids. Each season producing new growths from an underground rhizome.

A fully hardy vigorous hybrid, not usually offered. In early June very attractive white or light pink red spotted flowers appear approx 40-50 mm across, backed by three large, white faintly spotted red sepals. Grows to approx. 30cm high.

Can be planted in the garden in a humus rich, very well drained soil, in semi shade. (No midday sun). Or perhaps better planted in a container in a mix of coarse perlite, pumice and/or molar clay, organic matter such as composted bark should give good results. Feed weekly when in growth with half strength fertiliser.

These plants have been container grown in a similar compost. Some experience required to get the best from cypripediums. But this is a good starter plant. Growing instructions included.

These are large 1 nose flowering-sized seed raised plants. There will be some variation in colour as shown in pics 1-3. Supplied bare rooted as shown in pics 4-5. Price includes one bag of 3 litre cypripedium growing medium.
