This is VERY RARE VINTAGE GERMAN "OCHSENKOPF" QUALITY FORGED AXE head.
Hand forged axe head, made from the famous German manufacturer "OCHSENKOPF".Ochsenkopf Iltis European model felling axes have a very thin, slightly springy blade for maximum cutting efficiency. The blade is hardened almost all the way back to the eye, so with careful resharpening the tool will deliver a lifetime of excellent service.
As you may see from the photos above the axe head is marked from the manufacturer.
The markings are clear and well readable.
The axe head is produced at 1940's - 50's.
Without any cracks on the head or on the blade of the Axe.
