On sale an extremely rare €5 Banknote from the Dutch Friesland Islands, 2009 edition, and in perfect, UNC. condition.

This note is not Legal tender,

The €uro-zone do not much like the idea of Local-Only versions of the €uro. The first odd thing about them is that are in English, which is odd given that they are supposedly for use on the Dutch Friesland Island. They claim to be Negotiable Tender, well, everything is Negotiable Tender, as if I persuade you to accept an expired bus ticked instead of a Pound note, then I will have succeeded in Negotiating, or persuading you to accept it, thus turning an expired bus ticket into Negotiable Tender, so that phrase doesn't mean much.

They are issued by the Frisian Currency Board, a group that draws a complete blank on any google-searches, so I am dumbfounded by who made these, and for what purpose. The good news is that are very well made, on high quality woven paper, all individually serial numbered, and look very impressive, so clearly a well made, if slightly dubious piece.
