Selmer Bundy Vintage 1939 Stencil by Buescher Tenor Saxophone Made in USA w Case

At The Farm, we take actual pictures of each instrument and make sure they are fully set-up and ready to play before we ship them. Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving.

This process takes over an hour for each instrument - from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! Rest assured your vintage saxophone was not just plucked off of a shelf and drop-shipped to you from a warehouse without the care that it, and you, deserve.

This Selmer Bundy tenor saxophone has been professionally serviced and sanitized. It had a minor dent repaired, some minor adjustments, key corks and some shimming. The pads are all in good shape, and our service shop did not recommend it needed new pads, as it appears a recent repad was done.

It is gold laquer finish with mother-of-pearl keys and features beautiful flower engraving. It is in great shape, especially considering its age. Research shows this tenor sax was manufactured in 1939 in Elkhart, Indiana. This is also unofficially known as the Wayne Shorter model.

This tenor sax comes with a beautiful vintage alligator-style hardshell case with velvet maroon plush interior, a lyre, leather neck strap, mouthpiece (sanitized), vintage swab, 2 gold laquer mouthpiece covers, and 2 ligatures. The case does show some wear, which is expected based on the age, but it is still very sturdy with good interior padding, working latches and a leather handle.

This tenor saxophone is a stencil of an Elkhart Band Instrument Co model tenor. It is one of the better Selmer USA horns, with the engraving, made by Buescher for Bundy.

Buescher produced "Elkhart" branded band instruments as well instruments to be sold under merchandisers' brands ("stencil" instruments). Instruments produced by the company had an irregular assortment of features borrowed from the products of Conn and Buescher, partners in the consortium.

At The Music Farm, we take quality seriously! That is why we have our in-house technicians do a multi-point inspection on each product, ensuring that it'll be ready to play!

We want to help you Grow Your Passion®
