Claret Wine Decanter Crystal Glass and Sterling Silver
Made probably Holland circa 1900.
A Very Good LARGE Wine 800 Silver Jug. Elongated hemispherical form . With windmill finial over Dutch romantic rural idyll scenes, with East Indies Ship with Oriental building in background, etched into glass and embossed Dutch rural idyll, milking scenes amusing stubborn Donkey in silver band around base. Cherubs and satyr around neck playing together symbolised, darkness and innocent light. Provenance likely to be a Dutch East India merchants property, China Seas Oriental scene . Superb Quality and with great charm.
