So Why 50's Wiring?. It simple improves your overall tone and sound. This is the way Gibson wired up their electric guitars in the late 1950's. Notes open up after you play them. It’s stronger, tighter and adds clarity especially to the neck pick up. Will improve the Muddy Neck sound of a LP. By rolling back your guitar volume some you can clean up an over driven amp. One of my own favorite things is the elimination of much of the treble loss when you roll the volume down. Both volume and tone controls are very responsive and smoother. Does not matter what type of music you play. Rock, Blues, Jazz or Metal. 50's Wiring will improve your tone. I recommend it.

I personally prefer Bourns Potentiometers over all other brands including CTS. I have found them to be smoother and longer lasting.

**If you are not sure whether your guitar uses short (3/8") or long (3/4") shaft pots please check before ordering. Normally Pre-1977 Gibson Les Paul's, Epiphone's, SG's, Hamer's and PRS's use short shafts. USA made Gibson's manufactured 1977 and after use Long Shafts. This kit has short shaft. Although these harnesses are pre-assembled and tested they do require some soldering to connect the pickups. A 25 – 40 watt soldering iron is recommended. Make sure you are comfortable with making these connections or we suggest you take this to a qualified guitar tech to complete the installation. I can not be responsible if you damage a unit.
