New replacement ignition unit for the Yamaha SR500 1978 ONLY and TT500

Fits the 1978 500 model with the 8 wire CDi unit (1978) & all TT500s with Yamaha Factory CDi

Up-graded to give smooth advance, powerful performance, improved throttle response & easy starting hot or cold.

Each unit is fine tuned for the model it is intended for, giving outstanding performance. 

We don't make a "one size fits all unit" as it is not possible to get one timing curve that works well on the different models.

Replaces OEM part numbers 070000-035. The TT500 with Yamaha CDi uses our this unit.

Please note the warranty on this unit is invalidated if used with non-specified, pattern HT coils. The correct type to use are Genuine Yamaha, or those that we supply.

We can help resolve running problems with your SR/XT. We repair generators and supply new HT coils & regulator/rectifiers.

If you have an ignition system built from a mixture of parts from different models we can help. Typically this happens when a failed stator is replaced with the wrong one. They all look similar but if its not right for the model it won't work or give timing that is over advanced or retarded. We will need your stator and details from the rotor & CDi unit. Plenty of SRs have been consigned to the scrap heap due to this problem - don't let yours be one of them!
