Nicorette Gum calms cravings and reduces irritability and anxiety*caused by (or associated with) trying to quit smoking. It’s the go-to nicotine gum that can Double Your Chances of Quitting.

Strengths

Nicorette Gum comes in two strengths — 2 mg and 4 mg. Use this simple guideline to help you decide which strength is right for you:

2 mg

If you smoke your first cigarette more than 30 minutes after waking up, use the 2 mg strength.

4 mg

If you smoke your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, use the 4 mg strength.

How to Use

Once you’ve chosen a quit date, you can start using Nicorette Gum even if you can’t immediately stop smoking. To improve your chances of success, follow the “9-12-15” rule. Be sure to use at least 9 pieces of Nicorette a day for the first six weeks of your quit. Stay with the full 12 week quit program. And don’t eat or drink 15 minutes before or while you’re chewing Nicorette.

If you occasionally slip up during your quit, you can safely continue to use Nicorette Gum in most cases.

Sticking with Nicorette will help your body gradually adjust to having less nicotine until you no longer need any. How long that takes can vary from person to person, so if you feel you still need to use Nicorette Gum to keep from smoking, you can continue to use it beyond the 12-week program.
