This is extremely RARE to find genuine Russian GPZ (Zik's military axe) from 1973 with its handle and metal wedge. This axe was specially made for Russian army. It was found in military warehouse, was lying there for all those years, never used or sharpened. Sharpening angle for this axe is 23° (please check last picture). This axe was made from steel U8 (61-65 HRC). You can find Y8 mark on the axe. This is genuine hand forged axe by famous GPZ in Soviet Russia from finest steel. This axe cuts steel nails like matches with no harm to the blade.
 
On the head below blacksmith logo is stamped price (rare) - some of them are without stamped price.

Beware of fakes Russian axes on Ebay. Last picture is a scan from Russian factory book where you can compare dimensions (all dimensions are in millimeters). Save your money and buy genuine USSR Russian army axe. You won't be disappointed. This axe will last a lifetime. Not to mention how beautifully it rings - like a church bells.
