Here for your consideration is a RARE 1964-1966 Lafayette LR 400 Thirty Watt Integrated 17 Tube Stereo FM/AM Receiver-in good working condition. I believe this receiver was made for Lafayette by Sherwood. The great thing about this 17 tube integrated receiver is that it uses a quad of 6BM8 tubes for 30 watts of stereo output. These tubes are easy to come by and WAY LESS EXPENSIVE than EL84s, 6BQ5s, 7199s, 7189s, and other pricey output tubes- and they sound just as good!

My Tech friend Tom repaired this receiver replacing 18 capacitors, the dial lamp, the plug, cleaned the controls, restrung the dial, and fix a couple RCA Jacks. .

This very rare, 17 tube, 17.5” x 13” x 5.5” set shows up in the 1965 Lafayette catalog for $169.50. I will include the original catalog with the receiver. This sounds sweet, and gets great reception. The knobs are all original. It could use a cleaning to really POP, but I’ll leave that up to you..Panel graphics and dial glass are nice, and tuning meter works as it should. This comes with the original metal cover that is often missing on these 50+ year old receivers.

This has all the controls you would expect and more- Loudness, bass, treble,, mpx noise filter, , input selector, mode, and 8 or 16 ohm speaker selector. .

If you are a serious bidder, you already know the incredible specifications on this rare set, but just in case, they are listed below: What sweet and powerful sound!!
