DESCRIPTION
A good early 20th century French Post Impressionist mixed media ( pen, ink and watercolour ) painting of a woman and farmyard animals. It is signed by Robert Dugas ( 1883-1965) bottom right. Robert was an artist born in Lyon, France, the son of a sculptor and artist. This particular painting because of the squaring is obviously a preliminary sketch for a painting or mural. I have float mounted this using conservation mount board and in its gilded frame measures 21.5 x 20.5cm. The label on the back was found inside the original frame, and is I presume the original owners name and address which has good pedigree - the Count & Countess of Montain
