These charming and rare antique wooden French plaques in the shape of a shield
are painted with French flag colors and the letters "RF" which stands for
"République Française" (French Republic). These plaques would have been
outside a French government building, with one on each side of the main
entrance, and most likely attached to poles of French flags. Dating to
the late 1800s to very early 1900s, with weathered wood and chipped paint. Each
plaque measures 22 inches tall and 19 inches wide. Cross-bar on the back for
easy hanging in our French country home. We are NOT selling as a pair;
listed sale price is for ONE. However, two are available. Plaque is
heavy. Will be shipped within the USA.
