For your consideration is the acclaimed issue of BLACK BELT magazine that featured the BRUCE LEE essay, "Liberate Yourself from Classical Karate", Sept 1971, Vol. IX, No. 9, of the "World's Leading Magazine Of Self-Defense". This is the original printing that raised eyebrows everywhere in the martial arts world. Bruce Lee was basically accusing modern day martial artists as being 'robots' and 'swimming on dry land'. This article firmly established Lee as 'anti-establishment' and the spokesman for non-traditional martial arts. The seeds for Lee's approach to combat, 'Jeet Kune Do', was philosophically planted with this mainstream essay. The world of martial arts would be forever changed. Magazine measures 8¼" x 11" and is complete with 68 pages. Condition is very fine/near mint with light edge wear and toning to interior pages. Issue is bright, tight, and presents as newsstand fresh!
