UNUSUAL VINTAGE EGG SHAPED GLASS EYE BATH

I've never seen the like before, was told it was an bath but not 100% sure really as it wouldn't fit over a human eye socket snuggly enough to stop the liquid from escaping, maybe it's meant for animal use.
