The only possible alterations were not to be found in the lure itself, but in the hook system and color selections. With over thirty years of professional angling under his belt, David set out and designed what is now known as the VMC Sure Set hook. Recognized at the 2004 ICAST with a "Best of Show" award, these hooks have shown an impressive increase in hook rates when fish are striking short or missing altogether.
