1940's Vintage Tollet Ref: 2501 Chronograph Swiss Men's Watch

Overall the watch is absolutely stunning for its age with a gorgeous original dial which reflects in the light wonderfully.

Case

Beautiful step case in excellent condition as seen in the pictures. No deep scratches or dings as seen in the pictures.

The exact case measurements are 35.7mm excluding the crown by 43.8mm lug to lug with an 18mm strap size

Crystal

Plexi glass crystal in great condition, nothing negative to report as seen in the pictures

Dial & Hands

Original absolutely beautiful dial marked Tollet, 17 Rubis, antimagnetic, Swiss Made.

One of the nicest dials I've seen with a wonderful light patina and a reflective inner ring that shines a deep orange in the sunlight.

Original blue steel hands that also reflect in the light in great condition for their age functioning well.

Blue steel pencil chrono hands also functioning well in great condition

Crown & Pushers

Big crown in good condition with a few expected marks on it. It winds and sets the time without issues.

Big pushers in good condition as seen in the pictures. The chronograph starts, stops and resets without issues.

Case back

Stainless steel case back marked ref:2501 in good condition minus a few light scratches around the edges as seen in the photos

Movement

Landeron 48 movement looking very clean, it was serviced in early 2016. 

Marked Suisse, 17 Rubis. The watch runs well give or take a couple of minutes in a 24 hour period. The chrono runs without issues as well.

It's a vintage watch so obviously not as accurate as a modern Quartz watch

Strap

A new brown leather strap with pleasant stitching is supplied with the watch. Complete with a stainless steel buckle.

Overall this is a beautiful watch ready to wear with an impressive dial

Important info please read

Old-vintage-retro watches are more fragile than new watches. They can be easily over wound and damaged. 8-9 turns of the winding crown (from when they stop) is all that is necessary. Sometimes a gentle shake (right to left from 9 to 3 o'clock face up) is helpful to get them going

Unless a recent service is mentioned in the listing it is always recommended to service a vintage watch

Vintage means old so some small defects are acceptable due to the age of the watch

No waterproof tests are completed therefore it is strongly advised to keep them away from water 

No timing tests are completed unless mentioned in the listing 

No papers or original box are included in the listing unless stated.
