AMAZING & RARE FULL PLATE TINTYPE OF A DAGUERREOTYPE W/ PHOTOGRAPHER'S CLAMP - You are viewing a large scale, 6 1/2 X 8 inch full plate tintype showing a photographers clamp at the bottom edge of a sixth plate daguerreotype. The only way customers could obtain a copy of a previous photograph they had taken was to go to a photographer to make them a duplicate. This large scale copy image contains excellent contrast, tonal range and superb sharpness. You are able to clearly see the rolled edges of the original plate used during the buffing process to bring the copper plate to a mirror-like silvery surface. Obviously this young couple needed to have another image of this wedding? The photograph to possibly passed down to one of their other family members. Again, you are truly considering one of the only full plate copy images I have encountered in my years of collecting. Good luck to all my customers winning this outstanding example.

CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. Again, the full plate contains excellent contrast, tonal range and sharpness. The condition of the image is amazing for the large size with only a few minor creases and a slight bit of crazing to the surface. The reverse side of the plate does have some paper residue from where the image was previously framed.
