Used 1985 24-0 Winnebago class C “Minnie Winnie” on Chevy C-30 chassis with 5.7 L gas engine and 3-speed automatic transmission with 85,000 original miles.
ENGINE/DRIVE TRAIN AND BODY-
Engine and transmission small block V-8 gas 350 / 5.7L with 3 speed auto (no OD) engine does not burn, and hardly uses any oil but, has minute residue around front seal. The engine is strong and reliable and cools well. The automatic choke seems to be sticking a little but once its warm, idles fine. The transmission has always performed and shifts well.
Replaced- “power boost” brake/power steering pump, piston and reservoir.
Complete tune-up at 70K miles.
All engine compartment AC and emissions components have been removed permanently.
All belts replaced. Always maintained
Extensive front end maintenance to include upper control arm bushings on drivers side, lower ball joint on passenger side, both front rotors, brake shoes, calipers, wheel bearings/seals
Rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, outer axle seals, recent differential oil change, some recent copper-nickel brake lines and emergency brake cable.
Some recent exhaust work, muffler and tailpipes. Y pipe/preheat gasket replaced but has small leak.
Replaced all 6 tires last season and are in almost new condition. 16.5 LT x 8 bias-ply (When the vehicle sits for awhile, it take a mile of so for them the balance. After that they are fine. I guess there is a way to balance them but, I haven't done it as it doesn't bother me)
Cab exterior has typical wear and paint fade but almost no body rust with the exception of the drivers fender (see pictures) and undercarriage has some surface rust but amazingly clean for a New England vehicle. There is also a crack in the grill.
Cab interior is in great shape, no cracks in dash, all glass intact. Replaced all carpet in drivers compartment. All dash gages work including fuel. Heat, defrost and fan (all speeds) all work. 2 (passenger/driver) manually operated outside air vents/scoops under dash. Both captain's seats swivel and recline with arm rests, lap belts and aftermarket seat covers. Cup holder/caddy and glove box in engine cover
Aftermarket wireless back-up camera and 7” color monitor that has is customized to stay on when truck is running.
New battery last year with manual disconnect
Dash radio and most speakers have been removed. All speaker and power wire remain and ready for your new components.
COACH (exterior)-
Original one-piece aluminum roof with typical wear. Some previous leakage at body seams which have been repaired with minimal damage inside. This roof system has rigid insulation with no wood framing so there is no rot like you might see in other designs. All 3 roof vents are operable and water tight with aftermarket weather louvers
Corrugated fiberglass skin is in good shape overall. Some dings and patches but, watertight.
Storage compartments are intact and operable but, most key locks do not function
30 gal propane tank. (½ +/- full)
New last year- 15-0 awning fabric (awning assembly looks great but, awning spool is stuck in retraction and leg adjusters do not function. I use locking pliers and and it just takes a little more effort to use) Once it’s up, it works a intended.
New LED brake light assemblies
All new incandescent parking/marker/plate lights
2000/200 LB X 2” receiver hitch, 7 pin trailer wiring with electric brake.
Spare tire bracket and intact spare with soft Looney tunes "tasmanian devil" cover
Chrome bumpers front and rear with some pitting and dents.
GREEN JOB BOX/RECEIVER HITCH MOUNTED PLATFORM PICTURED IS NOT INCLUDED AT THIS NEW REDUCED PRICE AS OF 5-26-17
Custom surface mounted multi-tap/draw-down potable water manifold
Roof access ladder and luggage rack are intact and function
Roof AC is intact, fan and switching function but, probable refrigerant leak as it doesn't cool very well. I've never worked on it but I assume there is a leak somewhere. It may just need a recharge.
Roof TV antenna and interior control and been deleted and patched inside and out
All sliding windows function but with typical gasket/lock issues. Had to replace one piece over the dinette with a piece lexan, but it works.
There is an issue with water staining inside the bedroom which I've never been able to remedy. I believe it's the outside corner molding or even the side window but, not consistently leaking and very minor. I've never actually seen any water but the mattress has some water staining. That's the only way I know something's going on.
COACH (interior)-
Aluminum 6 gal gas/electric water heater with electric auto-pilot. (Unit was replaced a few years ago. 120v AC electric option has not been connected)
4 burner gas stove/oven is original and works well, and has matching custom plastic laminate/wood bi-fold cover.
Gas/electric refrigerator/freezer is original and works on both fuels. The freezer does frost up (gasket issues I guess) but cools very well. The refrigerator door lock does not function so, we just use a bungee ball to keep it closed.
Gas furnace is original and has many recent replacement parts. Sometimes there is a bearing noise at startup but it quiets down quickly. All ducts/outlets and thermostat are intact and the system works well.
Custom plastic laminate/integral wood edge kitchen counters
Full size residential single bowl stainless sink (with custom work space cover)
Full size residential gooseneck faucet with pull down spray and soap dispenser
Shower is original and functions. Louvered shower door works but, could stand to be replaced or a simple curtain.
Brand new toilet, wax and bolts
Vanity cab, laminated top, sink and faucet are original and work fine.
Mirrored medicine cabinet is original and is in good shape but, as it is steel, has some rust on the interior shelving.
All drain/waste and vent system including black and grey water storage tanks/valves are intact and function as intended
All potable water system piping, storage tank and DC pump are intact and work as intended with some modifications made to assist in winterizing
All exposed carpet has been replaced with floating laminate/sheet vinyl flooring. It's in decent shape with a little water damage at a few seams.
Mattress in main bed room was replaced with futon mattress some years ago. But has some water staining on the edge. (from the previously mentioned mystery leak)
Dinette table for 4 with seat belts, converts to bed. The table was redone when the counter were fabricated but, the wood edge has seen better days.
Custom additional seating for 2 with seat belts. Custom table converts to eating for additional 2 people and converts to bed for small child. Cushions have some stains from normal use
Loft has been customized and expands/cantilevers with custom fold down access ladder and additional custom cushions. Converts from standard 72” x 40” to almost 72” x 96” and or anywhere in between. Newer cushions have some stains from normal use and the originals are showing some wear.
When the kids were younger we could fit 6 of them up there, they loved it!
When expanded, there's room for 2 adults but, not a lot of headroom.
Custom loft front window bars (to prevent kids from going through the window in an accident) Loft glass has several cracks but , does not leak.
NO GENERATOR- The unit must have had a generator originally as there is control wiring and an hour meter in the cab but, it was removed before I got it. So, the “generator compartment” is now just storage.
Permanently installed a 5000w x 120v inverter in the cab with a manual transfer. Once plugged in, in the power cord compartment the automatic transfer powers the entire 120v AC system. (with the exception of the roof AC)
Both “house” batteries were replaced 2 years ago and are in great shape.
All original 120v AC and 12v DC systems function normally
New 120v AC receptacles in kitchen for appliances, microwave, cell phone charging station, fan and TV location.
